Milking Their Way to Success

Fourteen women inspired by another woman of the same village started a venture which has given them an identity and an opportunity to live a life of dignity and self esteem. These women belonging to different families have set an example how people from different cast, creed and religion can join hands together to fight poverty. They are now financially independent and their initiative has undoubtedly inspired many others take-up the same route to success. Getting inspired by the various incentive based schemes of the state departments they finally made up their mind to venture in to the business of milk to bid adieu to their poor economic standing. The government’s Doodh Ganga Yojna has given these women the key to fulfill their long cherished dreams. Each house today boasts of high yielding varieties of cow and buffalos which are producing milk giving these households a source of regular income. ‘Ekta’ has been instrumental in the creation of three more SHGs which too are doing exceedingly well
