The name of SAI Hostel has become synonymous for landing players to their destination, at least in case of Himachal. Players of SAI Hostel Dharamshala and a resident of Kullu, Kavita has succeeded in ensuring a place in the Senior National Kabaddi Team. She was sweating hard for the last four years in SAI Hostel Dharamshala to achieve this success. Not only Kavita has made an entry in the Indian Kabaddi team but she is also a part of playing seven. She left on June 25 for South Korea for Indoor Asian Games. Kavita is the third player from SAI Hostel who has got an opportunity to represent Indian Kabaddi team. Earlier, Pooja thakur and Ranjita too have proved their mettle in the Indian kabaddi team. And for the same, Pooja Thakur was decorated with Parshuram Award by the state government.The trials for the Indian kabaddi team held recently at Gandhinagar SAI Centre in Gujarat. Top 45 players of the country participated in these trials. The overall performance and exceptional sports skills helped Kavita to make a place in the final 12 team. Kavita is a player of Himachal Senior Kabaddi team and under her leadership, the state team has won bronze medal for three consecutive terms in national competitions. In charge of Amar Jyoti SAI Hostel Dharamshala M.S. Verma and kabaddi coach Mahender Puri has congratulated Kavita on her brilliant success.
Winning World Cup is My Only Dream: Kavita
20 years old Kavita told Himachal This Week that to win Kabaddi world cup for India is her only dream. Kavita told that she faced various ups and downs in her sports career. Kavita was selected for the Indian Junior team too, but due to extra kilos, she lost the chance to play for the country. That moment was distressing one for her, but she never accepted the defeat and kept on practicing continuously. Due to her sheer hard work and determination, Kavita finally succeeded to make a place in Team India
