Winning a Medal in Olympics is My Dream: Rajat Kumar

Rajat Kumar is in high spirit after winning the title of ‘Him Kumar’ in the state level Nalwari fair of Bilaspur. Hailing from Kachiari village in Kangra district, 17-year -old Rajat wants to shine the name of state and nation as well by winning a medal in Olympic Games, just like Sushil Kumar. Inspired from his grandfather Baldev (Rustum-E-Hind) and considering his father Goga Kumar as his guru, Rajat has remained a part of the national games for eight times since his inception in the wrestling arena. Apart from this, Rajat has won a bronze medal in the Junior National Wrestling Championship held at Jaipur in 2010.
Rajat told that besides Olympians Yogeshwar and Sushil Kumar, Kamaljeet Dhumchedi and Pamma are his favourite wrestlers. Apart from these, he also likes the wrestling techniques of Parvinder and Bhura Pehelwan. Studying in +1 standard at Kachiari School, Rajat’s pastimes are listening to pahari music and playing cricket. Rajat can make the state and nation feel proud if the state government extends him a helping hand
