Himachal This Week The religious Manimahesh Yatra will begin on August 17 this year. The state government as usual has made various safety and security arrangements for tourists and devotees thronging the place during the holy yatra. The state government has made some mandatory safety and security arrangements for all devotees’ including compulsory registration for those who are taking part in the pilgrimage visit to Shri Manimahesh Kailash Yatra. The registration can be done at Kalsuine (15 km from Chamba enroute to Bharmour) or Hadsar (14 km from Bharmour enroute to manimahesh) and the passanger traveling by Helicopter should enroll at Bharmour. All pilgrims will receive a registration slip which should be submitted at above said stations before and after the yatra. The holy Yatra will begin from 17th August 2014 on the occasion of Krishna Janma-Astami. And the Yatra will end on 2nd September 2014 on the occasion of Radha Asthami.
700 Cops to Ensure Safety
The state government has deployed seven reserve battalions of police and home guard for the safety and security of devotees besides tackling the natural disasters during the holy pilgrimage. About 700 cops of police and home guard will ensure safety, maintain smooth traffic flow and at the same time will act as guide to facilitate tourists during the yatra. The police will be deployed soon at the various points of the yatra. District Superintendent of Police Chamba Jitender Choudhary confirmed the news.   Notably, maintaining law and order, smooth flow of traffic and ensuring safety and security of lakhs of tourists visiting the area to have a dip in the holy lake during Manimahesh yatra is no less than a challenge for state police. Apart from that they have also to remain alert for rescue work in case of any natural disaster.
56 Organisation Applied to Run Langar Facility
Additional District Magistrate Bharmour Lakshmikant Sharma told that this year 56 applications have been received from self help organizations to provide langar facility to devotees during the Manimahesh Yatra. A meeting of representatives of self help organizations that applied for the langar facility was presided by ADM Lakshmikant Sharma recently. Entire terms and conditions for langar facility were provided to the organizations that applied for it. The organization will have to deposit a security fee of about Rs. 5000 to runa langar, which will be refundable. Apart from that the organisation will have to maintain the cleanliness and hygiene in the area apart from constructing a toilet near the facility. The security of those organization will be forfeited that are found guilty of violating these terms and conditions. Sharma said that no organization was allowed to run langar near the lake this year.
Shed Facility for Devotees in Chaugan Ground
The district administration Chamba too has taken necessary steps for the facility of pilgrims thronging the area. Additional District Magistrate Chamba Shubhkaran Singh told that the administration has taken a decision to establish shed in one part of the Chaugan for stay facility of the pilgrims. Apart from that Red Cross will provide free medical caps facility in the same ground. Temporary toilets will also be constructed to facilitate tourists during the yatra, he added.
