The knowledgeable audience present in Tanda medical College auditorium stood witness to the musical evening of ‘Himachal Ki Awaz-3′ grand finale to select Himachal’s singing star of 2014. The finalists performed one after the other during the final competition before the elite panel of judges, including famous Bollywood music director Lalit Pandit. ‘Himachal Ki Awaz’ event was started by Himachal’s leadingDivya Himachal Media Group three years ago to provide a platform to the budding and talented singers of the state. This year auditions were held at 13 places across the state in which nearly 1000 aspirants tried their luck in the singing field. All the contestants performed before panel of judges at various places and 180 contestants were shortlisted for a three day semi final held at Himalayan Group of Institutions in Kala Amb in Sirmaur district. Finally 20 finalists, 10 each in juniors and seniors categories, were selected for the grand finale held at Tanda Medical College auditorium. This event of Divya Himachal Media Group is gaining popularity with every passing year.

Berthin’s Gaurav is ‘Himachal ki Awaz’
Intends to make a career as Bollywood singer
Berthin’s Gaurav was declared winner of ‘Himachal Ki Awaz-3′ after the grand finale. A B.Sc IInd year student, Gaurav had also participated in HKA-2 and had emerged as IInd runner up last year. He intends to make a career as Bollywood singer. Having started his singing career at the age of six years, Gaurav started his singing career from Badol Devi Jagran and also performed in Kala Sangram competition organised by Dhillon Creation, Chandigarh. Gaurav considers Master Saleem as his role model. His uncle Vijay Singh is helping Gaurav to realize his dream in singing field. People of Berthin gave Gaurav a rousing reception when he reached his native village after winning ‘Himachal Ki Awaz-3′ competition.
Ritwik of Palampur wins Junior Title
Aiming to become Bollywood music director
Hailing from Trehal village near Palampur, Ritwik Bhardwaj emerged as winner in Himachal ki Awaz-3 junior category. Inspired by the singing style of Hariharan, Ritwik is aiming to make a career as Bollywood music director. Ritwik not only brought laurels to his family but also to his music teach Tinku Raja under whose guidance he is training hard for the past one year. Ritwik had also won silver medal in PTC Punjabi’s Voice of Punjab besides showcasing his talent in Delhi Doordarshan’s Rafi Night.
