newsFairs and festivals are still a very important part of Himachali people’s lives. These fairs and festivals always keep us in touch with our culture and moral values. Perhaps fairs originated for the cultural exchange and we are still following the traditions of organising traditional fairs. However, a lot of things have changed in the recent past as we started following the western culture to celebrate fairs and festivals. However, we can say that these fairs always keep us all in touch with each other and are very important for cultural exchange. Many state, national and international level fairs and festival are organised in the state, including Hamir Fest, Sombhadra Fest and Lavi International festival.
Sombhadra Festival Concludes with Much Fanfare
Himachal This WeekThe state level Sombhadra organised at Indira Gandhi Stadium, Una concluded with much fanfare. Miss Pooja was the star attraction during the last cultural night of the fair. The three-daylong fair attracted locals as well as tourists towards the star nights of the fair which included performances by various Himachali and Punjabi singers and dancers. Famous Sufi singer Sarabjeet Cheema created a mesmerizing atmosphere on the first day of the fair. Master Saleem, a renowned name in Punjabi and Bollywood industry, performed during the fair which left the audience spell-bound.
Attraction of International Lavi Fair
The international Lavi Fair is definitely an important event in Himachal. It was famous for the trading and still it is one of the most important fairs since it gives an opportunity for remote traders to be a part of the festival and sell their goods which eventually bring money and recognition among people. The fair is organized with great pride and traders make all necessary plans to be a part of the event every year. This year too, the fair was organised with great festive spirit in Rampur Bushehar
