Himachal’s Rishi Dhawan in India ‘A’ Squad

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the India ‘A’ squad for the upcoming tour of Australia and South Africa. The good news for Himachal is that its all rounder Rishi Dhawan has been selected for these tours. The team will play two four day matches against their Australian counterparts before featuring in a quadrangular tournament also involving the ‘A’ team of South Africa as well as the High Performance squad of Australia. Rishi Dhawan managed to impress the BCCI with his performance in the Indian Premier League (IPL) in which he played for Kings XI Punjab. He impressed the selectors with his batting and bowlinga during the recently concluded matches.  Most of the selected players had key performances for their respective franchises while youth was given preference over experience. HPCA President Anurag Thakur congratulated Dhawan for his selection in the India ‘A’ team and hoped that he will perform better in these series.

*  July 20-Aug 2 Quadrangular One-Day series in Northern Territory (Marrara Oval and Gardens Oval).
