Multi Linguistic Cops to Help Tourists

HImachal This Week
Tourist spots of Himachal Pradesh will be more fascinating especially for foreign tourists, as there will be no more linguistic barriers for them. They will find multi-linguistic cops ever ready to help them when in need. Foreign tourists will definitely find them amazed when they will find out that cops of Himachal Police are talking to them in their mother tongue. Keeping linguistic problem of foreign tourists, who do not speak English, in view, the state police department has taken a bold and wise step. It has trained many cops to converse in different languages like Italian, Turkish, Nigerian, Austrian and Israleian etc. Notably many tourists of these countries visit Himachal every year. Apart from Indian languages most of them are not much comfortable in English as well. So they face many hurdles because of this language barrier. That is why police department has deputed cops after providing them training in tourist spots like Shimla, Kullu, Manali, Dharamshala and Dalhousie. These cops can exchange general information with the tourists in their own language. However the police department has not forgotten local tourist too, as the cops have not only been trained in foreign languages but also been trained to understand and speak obscure Indian languages as well to facilitate tourists of other states of the country. That is why cops have also been equipped with the knowledge of Indian languages like Telugu, Tamil, Bengali and Malyalam etc.  According to Traffic Tourist and Railways (TTR) Wing of Himachal Police Department, eleven specially trained cops have been deployed at Dharamshala, while 12 in Kullu, 14 in Manali, 16 in Shimla and six trained cops have been posted in tourist station Dalhousie to facilitate foreign and Indian tourists. On the same line keeping upcoming tourists season in view traffic police has also been alarmed to take things seriously. Traffic cops who have been stationed in tourist spots are asked to guide tourists properly. They even have been stationed for the purpose beforehand. Also police employees have specially been cautioned that honeymoon couples should not be disturbed at any cost and they should be protected by anti social elements
