Cultural Function Enthralls Audience

The Chopal Student Association has organised its annual cultural function at Gaiety and the programme was named as ‘Ek Shaam Chaupal Ke Naam’. MLA Chopal, Balbir Singh Verma was the chief guest on the occasion. Students created a wonderful musical environment at Gaiety and left the audience spellbound. They presented an image of Indian culture in their performance. They also presented Himachali culture through nattis and singing performances. Pahari nattis like Kulluvi, Kinnauri, Sirmauri and others were presented by the artists during the function. Apart from these they also performed the western dances, Rajasthani dance and other Indian classical dance items. The function started with Shiv Prastuti by a student of the Chopal Association. Apart from song and dance performances, artists also presented some plays during the function which were based on social problems and gave messages to the audience through their plays. A comedy drama was staged. Chopal MLA Balbir Singh Verma congratulated the association for holding wonderful function and said that these types of cultural functions were very necessary for the society to preserve cultural heritage
