Fagu is the destination for people who appreciate a beauty less ordinary. Fagu is also the place where one finds peace. Fagu is not on the popular tourist circuit. It is off the beaten track and conceals its surprisingly potent beauty. Fagu is 22 kilometers distant from Shimla and situated at a distance of 4 kilometers from Kufri. Fagu is located high on the slopes of the mighty Himalayan mountain range at an altitude of 2,510 meters above sea-level. Due to its lofty position, Fagu offers breathtaking mountain views. Fagu is also popular for trekking in India. The place serves as a good base camp for trekkers and naturalists. Based in Fagu you can conveniently explore the nearby mountainous countryside which is dotted with picturesque orchards and deep green forests.
Fagu nights bring out a necklace of lights on the Himalayas. Just above Fagu are the temples of the local god-Banthia Devta. The temples of Banthia Devta proudly display the considerable woodcarving skills of the local craftsmen. Fagu offers to visitors a limited choice of accommodation. In winter, the temperature can drop to below freezing point when heavy woolens are required and in summers light woolens / cottons are recommended
